By roadDurham is 264 miles from London, 187 miles from Birmingham, 125 miles from Edinburgh and 67 miles from York.From the SouthDrive north on the A1(M) and exit at Junction 61. Take the A177 signposted for Bowburn. Follow the road for approximately three miles until you reach Stockton Road. Turn left at the traffic lights onto South Road, then right onto Elvet Hill Road. Take the first left turn and then the second right into the College grounds.From the NorthDrive south on the A1(M) and exit at Junction 62, A690 signposted for Durham and Consett. Turn left at the roundabout and follow the New Elvet road. Continue until you reach a fork in the road and take the road to the right onto Church Street. Drive straight ahead at the traffic lights at South Road and continue on Stockton Road for about half a mile. Turn right onto Elvet Hill Road; take the first left turn and then the second right into the College grounds.By rail14 trains per day travel from London and Edinburgh to Durham. The journey takes less than three hours from London, one and a half hours from Edinburgh and forty-five minutes from York
